• Flammability: Transformer oil is a combustible liquid (OSHA Class III-B) with a high flash point, typically over 140°C (>300°F).
• Extinguishing Media: Use dry chemical powder, foam, CO2, or water fog. Do not use direct water streams, as this can spread the fire.
• Handling:
  • Avoid all sources of ignition, including flames, sparks, and hot surfaces.
  • Use in a well-ventilated area.
  • Wear protective clothing, gloves (nitrile rubber recommended), and safety glasses with side shields to avoid contact.
  • Do not enter confined spaces until the atmosphere has been properly checked.
